The Furr residence has a traditional raised plantation design that is very comfortable on its one acre lot surrounded by large live oak trees. Much of the exterior material palette used is native to the lot, having been captured from the original home that was on the lot when purchased. Exterior brick veneer, siding, rafters and the slate roof represent some of the materials salvaged and reused on the new home. It was important to the owner to have these materials live on in the vision for the house.
The first floor has a classic layout with a center Loggia that bisects the plan into two halves. The second floor bedrooms are bisected by the same Loggia footprint with a panoramic view to the backyard by way of an over-sized dormer at the end of the Loggia.
