The driving force in this renovation was to move the kitchen closer to the back of the house where a den space exists. This move put the kitchen/den space closer to the backyard which has a new play area, pool and patio space. To compliment this interior change, an outdoor living area was created under an arched back porch that is easily accessible from the kitchen side of the house as well as the living room.

The interior and exterior spaces have a pastel color palette with clean simple, soothing lines that are in keeping with the rest of the interior spaces previously renovated. This can be seen in the choice of floor surfaces as well, which starts with a honed marble that is carried throughout the renovated interior spaces and continues with a limestone that flows seamlessly from the back porch to the end of the pool.

The back porch is divided into three spaces that include a cooking area, fireplace sitting area and a dining space. The cooking area provides a pull up peninsula bar where friends and family can gather while the cook can prepare barbeque on a ventilated grill or green egg. The dining space is closest to the kitchen and the sitting area allows a person a panoramic view of the pool and to the rest of the porch spaces.
