The original house had a more traditional southern Louisiana style. The owner desired to have the existing house and a new pool cabana addition to take on an “old world” character.

With this in mind, working closely with the interior designer, the renovated house and new additions were transformed by white-washing the exterior brick veneer, repainting all wood finishes and using plaster, limestone and antique cypress as a new material palette throughout the interior and exterior spaces.

The kitchen/keeping room was expanded by taking in an adjacent sitting room and screened porch which enlarged the space and put the dining area closer to the backyard to allow views and access to the pool and cabana.
